Maritime Administrations & Coast Guards
ICAN recognizes that each Maritime Administration has individual requirements needed to ensure safe and efficient marine management. Our various vessel-based and shore-based products can be combined to create specific solutions for all categories of Maritime Administration: Coast Guards, Port Authorities, Navies, management corporations, etc..
Search & Rescue (SAR)
 |
Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities are available in both Aldebaran II and Regulus II to assist search and rescue officials with unexpected emergencies at sea. SAR Patterns such as expanding square, parallel track/creeping line and sector search are displayed in the software and can be customized to meet your defined search area. An additional SAR feature is Man Overboard (MOB). This can be quickly executed using a hotkey button that activates an alarm and displays the precise location of the event.
|
In addition, MOB coordinates, range and bearing from vessel, time to reach, and time in the water are displayed in the MOB pop-up window, and can be transmitted to all emergencies vessels in the AIS network. The primary objectives are to minimize loss of life, personal injury, and property damage of those in need of search and rescue.
ICAN’s AIS display capabilities combined with Radar Overlay can significantly reduce the search time by quickly and accurately locating the exact position of distressed vessels.
Buoy Tending
 |
ICAN offers superior navigational aid servicing and record-keeping for maritime administrations connecting to vessel based systems. Developed through close consultation with the Canadian Coast Guard, ICAN creates customized navigational aids database services to meet your maintenance and record keeping needs. The Canadian Coast Guard uses ICAN products to fully integrate with their national navigational aids database. Administrations can collect vessel information to create a regional or national database of navigational aids.
|
ICAN’s NavAids Module software records complete buoy maintenance record-keeping in a powerful and comprehensive database. Sensor information at the time of servicing is automatically recorded and then easily exported to land based administrations. Detailed navigational aid information increases the quality of chart updates and the efficiency of quality assurance in navigational aid information.
Vessel Traffic Services
ICAN offers a wide range of Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) products for large scale, high volume ports and small, single base station ports. ICAN Horizon is a shore-based vessel management solution designed for Vessel Traffic and Monitoring centers. Using Horizon integrated with any ARPA/Radar enhances capabilities in both VTS centers and shipboard systems. Horizon can interface with any ARPA/Radar system and display unlimited numbers of ARPA targets using the latest advanced tracker capabilities.
Coastal Surveillance
ICAN offers a complete ECS surveillance and security solution for protecting your national borders from illegal activities; which has never been more important. Full AIS functionality using ITU-R M.1371-1 standard messaging brings the ability to detect AIS equipped vessels in all geographic locales, in any weather or sea condition. ICAN software interfaces with any ARPA/Radar and displays ARPA tracks in real-time with excellent coastline matching, high-resolution, and an unlimited number of targets. Advanced tracker capabilities means you can now track more than 1,000 targets and display small, hard to detect objects.
Competent coastal surveillance requires effective communication with everyone involved (coast guards, navies, police, and maritime administrations), through a completely integrated communications and target display network. ICAN meets these requirements by offering full AIS functionality with Radar Overlay to display a complete picture of vessel traffic. These capabilities ensure that virtually no vessel will go undetected through your waterways and oceans.
