Background

In the past mariners have found it confusing to decide which Bridge span to navigate through due to inconsistent and non standard Navigation markings. This is quite common on Road and Railway bridges throughout the world.  Because of this hazard and some serious accidents recently, AMS felt the need to develop an internationally compliant and recognized system where all mariners would easily identify the correct navigation span by day or night.

The AMS Bridge Navigation Lighting and Daymark System ® was therefore specifically developed to comply with the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) Recommendation 0-113- of May 1998. This enables the “many assumptions” to be removed for Authorities when deciding on how to mark the Navigable spans of Bridges – both for day and night navigation.

INNOVATION

The key to the AMS Bridge Navigation Lighting and Daymark System ® is the patented “Daymark” shaped (Port or Stbd) battery box which has the LED Lantern mounted to the face. This enables mariners to easily identify the correct direction of passage underneath bridges by day or night.

AMS has designed the Bridge Navigation Lighting and Daymark System ® as a highly reliable Marine Navigational Safety product giving Authorities and mariners peace of mind. It is simple to install and can be powered by 240V Mains or 12 volt Solar Power. It uses the latest technology LED Lantern to provide up to 5 nautical miles of visible range.
