System Design and Integration

AMS staff has extensive experience in the repair of spalled concrete in marine environments, having been involved in many projects on marine structures around Australia from buoy towers and piles to composite structures.
AMS can also implement solutions to control corrosion of reinforced steel such as cathodic protection systems.

AMS has on staff a number of qualified mechanical tradespeople with extensive experience in the fabrication and repair of steel. AMS has produced replacement components such as lantern room doors, sill plates and tower elements. AMS has also successfully repaired heritage components such as lantern room components retaining the maximum amount of heritage fabric wherever practicable

- Heritage Repair Work
AMS has carried out maintenance to many heritage listed structures and possesses a sound understanding of their fabric. The organisation has within its ranks experienced trades people who have maintained glazing and weather proofing systems that are unique to marine AtoN structures. During the past few years we have assisted AMSA to get a detailed picture of the state of its heritage assets by facilitating a long-term program of inspection and reporting by a heritage architect supported by our Technical staff.
- Working at Heights and Scaffolding
AMS has trained many of its workers in the requirements for Safe Work at Heights. All trained staff are also required to complete regular re-fresher training in accordance with a nationally accredited curriculum. Some AMS staff are qualified in scaffolding & rigging and are experienced at the erection of scaffolding for lighthouse maintenance tasks.
Remote Area Logistics
For customers a significant cost within their operations lies in the area of remote area logistics.
AMS’ core business involves working in remote marine environments. As maintainers of marine AtoN networks for AMSA and other agencies we have a proven track record of performance in this area.
AMS Staff are trained and experienced in operations involving off shore and remote area servicing, maintenance and project management.
AMS has experience in managing remote worksite activities and the access logistics associated with operating a safe and environmentally sensitive project in such places. AMS has strategic alliances with companies which allow it to supply all transportation, accommodation, plant, equipment, labour, and materials necessary for the execution of these works.
AMS has the ability to offer potential savings by sharing mobilisation costs between clients in remote areas.
Management and Integration of Technology Projects
AMS has extensive experience in managing projects of various complexity and size both in Australia and overseas. It has at its disposal a multi-skilled workforce with knowledge and experience that enables it to manage projects throughout their lifecycle from the design phase through implementation phase and ultimately monitoring and maintenance.

Facility and Asset Management (including Remote Monitoring)
As the most experienced maritime asset management group in Australia our customers reap the benefits of specialist knowledge and resources. AMS is able to make informed decisions about investment, service delivery and maintenance for clients in relation to business activities. AMS uses a number of systems in relation to the management of assets including IBM’s Maximo Asset Management software, which provides asset lifecycle and maintenance management for all asset types. Given that AMS has facilities situated across Australia, AMS is able to efficiently manage a large range of assets and facilities for clients and has extensive experience in this area. This also gives AMS the ability to offer potential savings by sharing facilities and resources.
Site Visits and Audits
AMS has extensive experience in performing site visits and audits on client assets and equipment. AMS has a range of standard inspection reports that cover the equipment and systems it services and maintains. Information is consolidated from inspection reports into a database for transfer to the client IT system. Inspection reports and data formats can be customised to meet client requirements. These inspections can also include an incident readiness assessment as required by particular clients. Failure data and statistical analysis can be provided in a format to meet client IT systems and any other requirements.
AMS staff are capable of performing audits to the standards set out by the World Meteorological Organization and has a number of trained quality auditors and can assist clients with services when required.
