Carmanah
Model 501
Up to 1 nautical mile (1.8km)
The Model 501 is a multipurpose solar-powered marine light suitable for virtually any low intensity navigation or hazard-marking requirement.
What sets the 501 apart from any other light is its unique encapsulated design. The unit is completely
waterproof, vibration proof and vandal resistant. It is designed for autonomous operation without
anymaintenance (ie. bulb or battery replacement) for up to 5 years.
The 501 is available in red, green, amber, white and blue LED output colors using a clear lens.
Fordaytime indication, colored lenses are available on request.
Model 601
Up to 2 nautical miles (3.6km)
The Model 601 is a multipurpose solar-powered marine light suitable for virtually any navigation
or hazard-marking requirement up to 2 nautical miles in range.
To-date, more than 40,000 units have been used around the world for all types of
industrial/commercial applications.
Using an array of ultra bright LEDs (light emitting diodes), the 601 can produce light output in five colors
that meet the international chromaticity requirements for green, red, amber, white and blue. It can also
produce all IALA standard flash patterns and custom patterns can be special ordered.
The 601 charges during the day, even under cloudy conditions, and turns on automatically at night. It also features sophisticated microprocessor intelligence that enables advanced light output control and battery power management, as well as precisely controlled flash rates.
Model 701-5
Up to 3 nautical miles (5.4 km)
Carmanah 700 Series marine lights are the next generation replacement for traditional 155mm 0.25amp/0.5 amp navigation lights.
Originally designed and built under contract with the U.S. Coast Guard, the 700 Series are the first solar
powered lanterns using light emitting diodes (LEDs) to enter the U.S. Navigational Aid System.
The 701 is the smaller and lighter version of the two models available in the 700 Series; it is intended for
use in regions where daily solar illumination is greater than 1.5 hours of winter sunlight. The 701-5 also
features an additional solar panel mounted on the top of the lens to further enhance the charging
function.
Fully-integrated, self-contained and watertight, the 700 Series are used around the world for any marine application requiring a marker light of 3 nautical miles of visibility.
Model 702-5
Up to 3 nautical miles (5.4 km)
Carmanah 700 Series marine lights are the next generation replacement for traditional 155mm 0.25amp/0.5 amp navigation lights.
Originally designed and built under contract with the U.S. Coast Guard, the 700 Series are the first solar
powered lanterns using light emitting diodes (LEDs) to enter the U.S. Navigational Aid System.
The 702-5 is a larger version of the models available in the 700 Series; it is intended for use in
regions
where daily solar illumination is greater than 1.0 hours of winter sunlight. The 702-5 also features an
additional solar panel mounted on the top of the lens to further enhance the charging function.
Fully-integrated, self-contained and watertight, the 700 Series are used around the world for any marine application requiring a marker light of 3 nautical miles of visibility.
Model 702-GPS
Up to 3 nautical miles (5.4 km)
Carmanah 700 Series marine lights are the next generation replacement for traditional 155mm 0.25amp/0.5 amp navigation lights.
The Carmanah Model 702-GPS is a fully-integrated, solar LED three-nautical-mile (5.4 km) marine light
with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) synchronization. It installs in minutes and requires no
maintenance or servicing for up to five years. Using their integrated GPS receiver, any number of 702GPS lights can be set to flash in perfect unison.
Typical Applications
Originally designed and built under contract with the U.S. Coast Guard, the 700 Series are the first solar
powered lanterns using light emitting diodes (LEDs) to enter the U.S. Navigational Aid System.
The 702 is the larger version of the two models available in the 700 Series; it is intended for use inregions where daily solar illumination is greater than 1.0 hours of winter sunlight.
Fully-integrated, self-contained and watertight, the 700 Series are used around the world for marking navigation buoys, port and harbor entrances, breakwaters — any marine application requiring a marker light
of 3 nautical miles of visibility1. The 702-GPS adds the additional capability of flash synchronization between any number of lights at any location in the world.
The Technology
Utilizing an innovative combination of solar and LED technology, the 700 Series lights charge during the day, even under cloudy conditions, and turn on automatically at night. Instead of traditional incandescent bulbs, the 700 Series use durable, high-intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs), which have a lifespan of up to 100,000 hours. Therefore, other than replacing the battery packs approximately every 5 years, the 700 Series are designed to operate flawlessly with no additional servicing or maintenance.
Model M704-5
Up to 5 nautical miles
The Carmanah Model M704-5 4- to 5-NM solar-powered LED lanterns are the world's most advanced, solar-powered LED navigational and hazard-marking lanterns. They are completely self-contained, install in
minutes and require no maintenance or servicing for up to five years.
The Model M704-5 is built for performance in harsh weather conditions. The Model M704-5 uses an array
of ultra bright LEDs and can be programmed with over 200 flash patterns. Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance Standards, the Model M704-5 produces light output in IALA's four
international chromaticity colors: green, red, amber and white.
Through the innovative combination of solar power and LED technology, the M704-5 lanterns charges
during the day, even under cloudy conditions, and turn on automatically at night. Instead of relying on
short-lived incandescent bulbs, the M704-5 uses durable, ultra bright light emitting diodes (LEDs), which
have an operating lifespan of up to 100,000 hours.
Carmanah's new optics and lens design mean wider vertical divergence and greater light uniformity.
