Search And Rescue Support

A key capability for AMS is in the area of search and rescue and maritime life support equipment. This includes the routine servicing, deployment and support of specialised search and rescue equipment such as air deployed rescue systems.

AMS technicians are accredited life support fitters with backgrounds in both military and civil life support equipments (rafts, PFDs, multi-raft systems, etc).

AMS is equipped for and capable of handling a wide range of proprietary brand equipment (eg personal locator beacons, life jackets).

AMS has a major contract with the Commonwealth Government, through the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, for the maintenance and deployment of search and rescue equipment used by the civil Search and Rescue Units (SRU) located around Australia in rescuing people in a distress situation at sea. AMS provides training to these SRUs in the use and deployment of search and rescue equipment.
